Thank you for an overwhelming response to part one of
this topic!
Now, in the last part we dealt with some foundational
aspects of becoming a Martial Arts Millionaire. Today
we'll have just a few more foundational aspects.
I know you're smart enough to realize that these
concepts not only apply in martial arts and making
money - but in all areas of life.
And remember, a house is only as strong as its foundation.
If you go for the cash without the foundation, you'll end
up broke, or even worse, a rich idiot. As the good book
says "a fool and his money will soon part ways"
Which leads us to
Martial Arts Millionaire Secret #3
Never sacrifice Your Integrity
I would say "never sacrifice your integrity for money",
but the fact is you should never sacrifice your integrity
for anything at all. Ever.
In the Seven virtues of Bushido, this is known as "gi",
translated as "Rectitude." Far more than a simple moral
lesson on "being good", it is foundational integrity to
it's core, the first step of all good success.
Martial Arts Millionaire Secret #4
Retain Your Center
Once you've removed the influence of negative people and
discovered what you like in order to make it fun, while
retaining Makoto (purity of spirit) by never sacrificing
your integrity, you'll find your center, your place of
balance.
This is a huge key!
Operating from a place of Balance, when you hit a bump
you don't go flying - instead you quickly adjust and
retain your stride and progress.
Balance of mind, body and spirit are necessary for lasting
success.
Yesterday we talked about those negative people who
knowingly or unknowingly try to throw you off balance.
In most cases, they are doing it out of ignorance because
they themselves are unbalanced.
Everyone is broadcasting who and what they are in everything
they do. Essentially, your life is your message. What is your
message?
You can always ask yourself this: "what message are they
REALLY trying to give me?" Usually it's not the one they
think they are trying to send.
Likewise ask yourself, "what message am I REALLY
sending?" It's most likely not the one you thought you
were sending. Yet now that you know this, you can
more directly match your actions with your intentions,
bringing about far superior manifestations (also known
as "Results!")
So retain your center. Avoid being impelled off-balance by
any mental, verbal or even physical attack. When you are
rooted in integrity, you always know where you stand.
You're also programmed through conditioning to
throw yourself off-balance.
Yep.
But now you'll begin to notice when "you're doing it again"
and catch it and re-direct it to a more powerful state of being in
balance.
Listen up, friend: any goal you want to achieve is like
hitting a target. You will hit it more effectively if
your position is solid and balanced.
Try this on a punching bag: lean forward with your legs
straight and off-balance and strike the bag.
See how that feels.
Then, bend your knees and take a horse-stance in front
of the bag and strike it, turning your hips and body
with the punch.
See the difference?
It's like night and day, isn't it?
And that's how we go about life most of the time,
striking out at what we want from a place of
imbalance and then wondering why we didn't get
the results. Had enough of that?
Well now you know better and you'll be much more
effective, won't you? Welcome to the Martial Mastery
way of life!
By retaining your center, you consolidate your efforts
into maximum effectiveness.
The center of the wheel does the least amount of work,
yet causes the greatest amount of accomplishment.
Start being the axle and stop being the rubber tire!
Martial Arts Millionaire Secret #5
Energy First, Last and Always!
Energy is love. Energy is money. Energy is awareness.
Energy is life itself. When something is dead it has no
more...energy!
Let's call Energy "Chi", or "life force." Low or weak
Chi is the cause of confusion, dis-ease, misdirection,
failure and death.
So whatever faces you, and how you go about life,
always ask:
"How will this affect my Chi (energy)?"
You'll notice yourself doing things that are profitable,
from the way you conduct yourself in business, to the way
you think, even the way you eat and breathe!
Fantastic, isn't it?
Enough for now. You've got plenty here to work with.
Take a good solid look at your own life now and you'll
see that this also applies to the area of making money.
Makoto,
